"Kia Ora" comes from the language of the Māori and is well known all over New Zealand. What it means? In its most simply form it means for hello. But there's much more behind these two words than just a simple greeting. The direct translation of "Ora" stands for a condition of persistence or for being alive. In connection with "Kia", the noun becomes a verb and means living instead of liveliness. Or with other words - saying Kia Ora to someone, you wish them the essence of life.
